Job description
Norrin is an AI integrator, enabling end-to-end Enterprise AI and data solutions that turn ambition into production and drive real productivity gains. We co-create the solutions, infrastructure, and adoption that make it stick. What brings us together is deep technical expertise, a creative engineering mindset, and a people-first culture. Norrin has strong roots in Finland while operating internationally across the Nordics, the United States, and APAC.
As a Data Engineer, you'll be part of our expert team, designing and building modern, scalable data solutions in exciting client projects - leveraging the best of Microsoft's technologies like Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. You'll work hands-on while also contributing to architecture decisions, technology choices, and the development of best practices. Depending on your role allocation and client needs, you may work on one or more projects simultaneously. You'll collaborate closely with our team and clients - sometimes guiding and sharing your expertise, other times diving deep into development work yourself. We'll shape the focus of your role together based on your strengths and interests, ensuring you'll find space to influence, grow, and thrive at Norrin.
In this role, you will
Design and build scalable data pipelines, integrations, and modern data platforms
Contribute to architectural decisions and technology choices
Implement data models and ensure solution-level data security
Drive development best practices, CI/CD, and continuous improvement
Share knowledge and support the growth of others through our Data Engineering Guild
What we're looking for
At least 3-4 years of experience in data engineering or analytics development
Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark
Strong experience developing Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric solutions within Azure environments
Proven track record building scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions in production (Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric)
Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and integration architectures
Experience with CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure automation (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)
Understanding of modern data architecture patterns such as Lakehouse and medallion models
Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and development best practices
Ability to act independently as a technical expert in client-facing settings
Strong consultative mindset and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
Fluent skills in both Finnish and English
Nice to have
Experience with cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake
DBT for managing SQL-based data transformations
Azure or Databricks certifications (e.g., DP-600, DP-700, Databricks Data Engineer Associate / Professional)
Broader integration development experience to contribute to both data and integration projects
Experience with Power BI, Gen AI solutions, or machine learning (MLOps)
Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
Familiarity with Azure networking and access management concepts
